Stephanie has been travelling from an early age, focusing on finding culture. Stephanie laid roots in several cosmopolitan cities during her studies – think New York, London, Paris and Amsterdam. Want to know her favourite destination? That’s like picking a favourite child for Stephanie.
CEREAL. It's independent, very well-curated and last but not least super beautiful. The perfect replacement for a coffee table book.
prepare for a trip
I spend as much time as I can researching my destination. What are the interesting neighbourhoods? Which restaurants are a must? And I always love to explore a new place running. It's a great way to start off your day fresh whilst getting to know the place you're in.
I am currently living in Amsterdam, so when I am here and not travelling, I work at Zoku, a vibrant communal working & living space with excellent coffee & lunch. I also love to work at the newly opened Soho House. It has such an international vibe to it.
Oh I can't choose one, but I love BarBel in Antwerp, Publik Wine in Cape Town and Hôtel Biron in San Francisco. Wine bars are my thing because obviously wine is my favourite alcoholic beverage :).
Vuurtoreneiland! It is such a magical and romantic experience. Amsterdam by boat is beautiful and the food is just gorgeous.
place to go with friends
Loulou's in London. It's the perfect place to start your evening with a yummy cocktail and dinner & dance afterwards.
romantic boat ride on the way to Vuurtoreneiland
Ohhhh that's impossible for me to choose, but from the top of my head, I'd say Waverly Inn in New York, Septime in Paris, Disfrutar in Barcelona, Petit Crenn in San Francisco, The Stonehouse in Santa Barbara and Sapore di Mare in Rome.
I like to make it extra fun for myself, so I alternate between boxing, personal training and spinning at Rocycle. I also love running because you can do it whenever wherever.
morning run in Central Park, New York, with gloobles friends Tessa Duste and Nina van Heuveln
Château de la Coste and Fondation Maeght in the South of France for their beautiful architecture, surroundings and sculpture of course.
Buvette in New York. Their scrambled eggs made with a coffee steamer are to die for!
Metrograph in New York City & The Movies in Amsterdam because I love their vibe and they both have a great selection of art house films & blockbuster movies.
place to live
I am completely in love with New York City, and I try to go back as often as I can, but Amsterdam has everything for me: most of my friends live here, you can cycle everywhere, you can drink the water out of the tap. The quality of life is just so good and isn't it just the most beautiful city with its canals?
Copenhagen & Lisbon. They both have incredible restaurants and I love the culture.
trip with friends
Ibiza or Saint Tropez, where they have great beach restaurants like Club 55 where you can hang all day.
My aluminium silver Rimowa trolley and a secondhand Louis Vuitton weekend bag that I got from my mum.
Comfy clothes & shoes, but I always make sure I take a nice blazer or jacket so I look well put together.
Eight Hour Cream by Elizabeth Arden, hydrating hand cream from Natura Bissé, cuticle oil from OPI, my hands-free phone charger and a good book.
Our first trip with our baby boy :). We are thinking about going to Zighy Bay in Oman, since the flight is only 6 hours and there won't be much jet-lag.
travel bucket list
Australia & New Zealand, Taiwain and Canada. The list goes on and on :).
