this lovely South of France transplant is as in love with Amsterdam as she is with shooting landscapes. she skilfully combines her photography & graphic design skills to create & play with images, tell stories & reinvent the world around her. if you catch her on a trip, you'll never find her without her best friends - her cameras. she hasn't been everywhere, but it's on her list.
It's called Les Others. It's a French magazine about travel, as well as photography.
prepare for a trip
I prepare for a trip weeks in advance. I look at websites & books to be sure I'll have the perfect mix between "must-see" cultural places & very local ones as well.
place to work
I like to work at coffee bars or co-working spaces. I love to interact with people from different backgrounds.
My favourite bar is called Café de l’Abbaye. It's a hilltop bar in Marseilles, the simplest bar ever. You can drink on the street at plastic tables & chairs, but it has the most beautiful view on the Old Port of Marseilles. In Amsterdam, it's Festina Lente, a typical brown cafe you can stop by any time of day, & it will always feel like you're in your own living room.
Anywhere you can find good (French) red wine!
place to go with friends
To a restaurant where you can find a large table to share with ten people & you can stay however long you want. A place where you can have nice drinks after dinner & have long conversations about life & other useless things.
My favourite restaurant in Marseilles is called La Cantinetta. It's a bohemian Italian & Mediterranean restaurant that has the best burrata ever! & the best bottarga pasta, & the best cutlet Milanese...
restaurant in Amsterdam
In Amsterdam, my favourite restaurant is Buffet van Odette. Every time I go there, I feel like I'm going to dine at my grandma's.
The movie theatre Le Luxor in Paris. It's a 100 year-old theatre, one of the first in the French capital. It's Art Deco inside & out, inspired by ancient Egypt. It's wonderful.
place to live
For now, it's here in Amsterdam. I find the perfect balance between a dynamic international capital city & the cosiness of a little town.
trip with friends
Corsica! Or Pays-Basque, the French West Coast.
A small suitcase from my father. Not too big. I like lightweight travelling, but never just with my daily backpack.
Something casual, cosy & nice; not pyjamas.
A good crime book & a crossword puzzle, music on my iPhone & sunglasses.
Oman - I'm so excited!
travel bucket list
Road trip in Morocco, Lebanon, a road trip in Iceland, Jordan, hiking in Switzerland, Mexico, Brazil, a road trip down the West Coast of America, South Africa, Namibia, Tanzania. I can't stop, sorry!
