After her studies Art History and working at several contemporary galleries & Christie’s Nina van Heuveln decided to set up her own art consulting firm in Amsterdam: Heuv Art. This gorgeous art historian is always driven to visit many art related places around the world such as art museums, art galleries, art fairs, art academies and artists’ studios and has a wide network within these places.
Louisiana Museum of Modern Art near Copenhagen, Denmark. Their shows are amazing and I just love the site of the building, near the sea and their sculpture garden is amazing. The sculpture park at Storm King Art Center near New York also belongs to one my favourite public art spaces.

I have got many favourite art galleries but I am a big fan of the artists presented by Sprüth Magers gallery in Berlin and Pilar Corrias in London.
I don’t have one particular favourite time period in the arts but I like to combine artworks from different time periods. Like an old master piece next to an artwork from the Zero period or maybe a very contemporary piece.. In this way the artworks react to each other which makes it very playful.
I would reckon a big standing sculpture by Alexander Calder or a painting by Cy Twombly as one of my favourite art pieces.
Nowadays there are many auctions. Not only the big ones (Christie’s, Sotheby’s, Phillips) count, but the online auctions (Paddle8, Artnet) are becoming more and more popular.
Art Basel in Basel. It is the most important contemporary art fair in the world and there are many side fairs and great exhibitions in museums in Basel. Always a must go for me every year.

The most inspirational city for me is New York. Many emerging talents are living in Brooklyn but lots of important galleries and museums are based in Manhattan. It is the city that never sleeps and always keeps on going.
Sketch in London would be one of my favourite arty restaurants. Not because of the artworks that are hanging on the wall, but because of their complete arty interior.

date night spot
The private membersclub Loulou’s in London would be the perfect date night spot for me. It is small and cosy. You could have a lovely dinner and a little dance afterwards. The cocktails at Loulou’s are also to die for.
I recently discovered The Chin Chin club in Amsterdam where you can dance on the finest tunes, but also sing karaoke or play games. The Box in London/New York – with their Hip Hop music and live entertainment – is always a good idea.
where to meet artists in the wild
The legendary Paris Bar in Berlin. Especially during the 1990s this was the meeting place for artists. Nowadays artists come together in more private spaces that stimulate creative minds, like Soho House.
next travel destination
In December I will be flying to Cape Town where I will be travelling around with my boyfriend. I am looking forward to visit the galleries during First Thursdays. The galleries in Cape Town then will be open until late so I would like to go there and discover the emerging African talent over there.
